35 movies in 2 minutes, only the faintest representation of any of them, narrowed down to one small feature. I could only make out a few...

HP 7 trailer here )

It looks mega-cool, but then again, all of the trailers looked cool.

I'm still quite excited. :)

All I can say is a quote, from one of my favorite Gary Oldman characters, Norman Stansfield - "Death is... Whimsical today"

Was worth the six years, I tell you. Wonderful.

Well, my dreams tonight were a mash up of "Ink", "CSI Miami" and some bookstore I can't recall I've ever been too. I can't even remember how it all came together, and it's possible I dreamed a few dreams at once. I do remember Speed being there, as a drunk, and Calleigh and Eric taking a stakeout at a cave somewhere. Real fucking mess.

As for reality - had my first sign language meeting yesterday, and it was fun, fun, fun. I already taught myself the letters and we learned some common phrases and practiced some. Spent half an hour on the bus home practicing. Probably looked like a goof. :)

The first week of the semester has passed, and I have a feeling this one will be easier. Not less time consuming, but maybe better. In retrospect, the last semester wasn't as bad as the one before, and I hope this down-hill will continue. I have three semesters to go now, and the end is nigh. Thank the gods of time.

Things to do today - Cook for tomorrow, go to the mall for my mom since my cousin is going away for a few months and we want to buy him a going-away present (well, she does - he managed to annoy me humongous-ly last week and I really don't want to give him anything), two exercises for next week, get the last bit of my costume finished and maybe watch the rest of "Ink".

I'm totally going to be a StoryTeller next Purim.

It's really stormy outside - I woke up during the night to the hail that was coming down and took my plants inside. I like winter when I'm home - last night it was a bit annoying when I had to fight the wind and the rain to get to the bus station.

Movie week

On Monday it was "Where the wild things are", Tuesday - "Avatar".

Today I'll be going to watch "New Moon" again with Nurit, which will conclude a week of three of the movies I really wanted to see in the past month.

Strange. For a long time - nothing, and now... Well, whatever. As long as I won't have to wait for th DVDs to come out.

The semester has ended. My first test is Tuesday, and then Sunday. I hope it won't go as "well" as last semester went. I'm passing these tests, with good grades.

I'm reading two books at the time, both I've already started before but got nowhere. I hope I'll get through at least one of them during the weekend ("The bride's farewell" is shorter, so "The thirteenth tale" will have to be dragged a bit beyond). I've so many books I haven't read it's starting to scare me. I need one good summer to get through all of them (when I say "good summer" I mean one without retaking tests and without heartache, and this summer was lacks on both categories).

OK.

So my external disc died (my mom was very nice to clean behind my computer when I was in NY, but on the way moved the-already-sensitive-disc and screwed it up permanently). I've been trying to salvage my stuff on it for weeks now (yes, I know that a computer lab will be able to do it, but since I don't have time to do that I'm still fishing). The first thing I was able to rescue were the photos. They were the most important part since they cannot be replaced (obviously).

Life on Mars has been rescued yesterday with the second season of Ashes to Ashes, and some of the more important movies.

But.

SPN and House are super big, and I can't move them except season after season, and mostly the "disconnected" message appears before that. So I need more DVDs to burn, and some more luck before I can breathe again with the important stuff. And then I don't think I'll buy another one of these but burn everything.

On other news - I can't find a job (I don't really want one but I need one, I've no money) but school is going pretty well. Who knew how much of my two years of laziness in homework making really was because of my perach job...

Since no one else was interested, I give you the answers to Mel's questions

Mel gave me... )

Went to see "Bruno" last night with Mel, Nurit and Ruthi. Dinner at Max Brenner was tasty though the service sucked towards the end. They didn't get much of a tip.

The movie was horrible, at least in my opinion. sure, it had its funny parts but it was very, very blunt to the point of porn at some points. The girls really enjoyed it, and I was covering my eyes and snoozing on and off, especially after they showed shooting a rabbit and roasting it on a fire.

It was fun to see them all, even with the movie. Nurit gave me a ride from and to home (she actually picked my up from the hospital where I was visiting my grandma. She looked a whole lot better than she did last week) and we managed to deteriorate our conversation to screaming at the top of our lounges when we saw a banner for the new HP movie, singing "A-huza" and with the bit that went with it a variety of things, like "Turn right here" (פנה ימינה) because she has a puta (GPS). Laughed quite a lot.

Am now trying to study.

Indeed!!!

Well, "Mr. Blue-sky" really is a feel-good song... :)

My solids professor walked up to me today and started a conversation about Harry Potter (she saw me with OotP during break), and a guy sitting behind be jumped in and said "how come you have time to read?" so I said that when one can't read, one can't live, and my professor said she agreed with me. I do so very much like her... :)

And on another subject - crushes are stupid things... Blah about that.

Some time off from Perach, almost no meetings this week, which will give me time to study (or, more likely, finish OotP). On the other hand, our mid-year seminar is this Friday, so this Friday is totaled as well as the last three and the next one. I won't have a Friday off until February...

Got hold of "First among Sequels" but there is still two and a half HP books to get through before I get my head around to anything else, and by that time my "Twilight" series will be here (hopefully) from Amazon and I can't see myself straining too hard to stop myself from them.

Very happy that the semester is drawing to a close. The next one is harder, still, but it's a second semester, and as such has the proximity to the summer and New York is calling me from afar for this summer, so I'm not too bummed. I am bummed about Mel not coming with me, but my sister gave me the idea to publish my need for a trip-buddy in "Lametayel" in Dizengof Center, so I guess I'll find someone in the end, and, still, I have these hopes that, well..

Also - "True Blood" had a very good first season, finished downloading it on Saturday and now I'm quite at a loss for stuff to download (some shows returned this week, so that's good, but whole seasons? Not anymore). Downloaded "Once" but only got through the first 5 minutes to understand I'll understand absolutely nothing from their Irish accent. I'll have to see what I'll do with that... *is amused*

Twilight

Yes, I have gone to see that dumb teenage movie.

It is dumb, mind you but it did what it was supposed to do - got me smiling for quite a while. It's not a bad movie, I've seen much worse, and it had some of the most beautiful scenery shots I've seen in a movie outside the LotR trilogy, and a few priceless scenes as well (baseball with vampires who can run fast and hit so hard they have to wait for a thunder storm to play? Yeah..).

It was, however, very late - we went to see the 22:45 show and ended up with the need to wait for the 00:30 one because there were no tickets left. We however got our reward - no kids in the audiance... I was happy about it.

Only got home at 3:00, and then I stupidly watched the last hour of "It's a wonderful life" so bed for me - only at 4:00.

Got up at 11:00 or so, had some cake (which I baked yesterday) and now I'm trying to convince myself to do my homework..

All in all, I had a good Friday... Oh! I also had a quiz yesterday morning, and it was one I'm completely sure I aced. I hope I won't be dissapointed.

Been quite ill... Haven't been able to work properly )

My mom was busy so I made sandwiches, and she bought like two tons of food to take with us. My dad got here at about 16:00 and we left at 16:15, picked my sister on the way and off we went.

Concert report, pics included! )

Mel and I arranged to meet at 10:30 but that didn't work so we ended up arranging a meeting at 11:30.

11:40 I was in TA with my sister and my brother in law and Mel was still stuck in traffic so we went to get some coffee (Blicker on Raines street has a very good chocolate and almonds croissant, maybe the best I've ever eaten, and great cold coffee). After that we went to the center, where we walked around some until Mel called and said she was there. I have already managed to buy myself a new bag by that point... I said goodbye to Michaly and Eyal and went to meet a very distressed Mel, not to mention hungry.

After getting tickets to "Persepolis" (which finally got to Israel!) she had something to eat and we made to look around. Got myself a new pair of earring at "Diva", an art magazine and a notebook and two new "Calvin and Hobbes" books. Needless to say, by then I asked Mel to stop me from buying anything else...

The movie was incredibly amazing and both me and Mel cried through big chunks of it. I can definitely say I wasn't disappointed (I have this tendency when it comes to books I love being processed into cinema), and even more so - I believe this movie gives a rounder, fuller view of this story. Mel agreed that it should be sold alongside the books for the full processed.

We spent the rest of the afternoon watching two episodes of "House" and then I gave her a ride home.

It's 10:52 and the rain is picking up.

I love this feeling. :)

After having watched "Beauty and the Beast" and "Sleeping Beauty" (finished downloading this morning) I really have to say that:

a. I'm so sorry Disney makes no more of these innocent, sweet movies with the classic animation
b. I'm a sucker for happy endings...

Serious fun

Enchanted and Forrest Gump on the computer.

Got my external hard drive and am now in the middle of a transfer proccess...

Some movies are already safely installed on the drive, but my real chalange will be SPN, since I have that on CDs, and my CD player (DVD) has to be plugged in on both USB drives to work, and so does the drive.

Will start the transfer after everything else is on it.

:)

Spent 8 hours today meeting tutors. Oh my.

Also am in the middle of my Umberto Ecco book (I still can't remember what it's called, something with mysterious I think), I ate too much junk today and my head hurts since 11:30.

Gladly, I am home now, and I'm wondering what to eat, that'll be better than all the other stuff I ate today, and then I'll watch the end of "Pleasantville".

I have to say, I missed dancing.

I also have a stamp on my arm, which takes me back...

Avihu's birthday party was a lot of fun, but I came home completely drenched in cigarette smoke. I don't have the strength to shower tonight again, I'll bear with it until the morning.

Haven't written in a week. The problem is, every time I sit down I don't want to stand up, and if I sit at the computer I start playing computer games to keep my mind off things and not drown myself in analyzing them.

I'm still working hard on Perach, but the end is nigh (is that how it's spelled?), and two weeks from now the pressure will start to drop, hopefully.

I am still, however, dreaming about perach. I hate it. I used to love my dreams...

Also, second day of period. Yesterday was quite horrible, but today was somewhat better, and with all the work I hardly have time to whine (well, I seem to be doing a wonderful job at it now, at 1:56 in the morning).

Five exercises to be handed in this week - infi, linear algebra, two in graphics and one in programing. All of them needs to be done tomorrow so I'll have the week free for perach.

OK.

Anyway.

A bit in Hebrew about a book I love )
