Arg. Passover Kosher
Apr. 4th, 2007 02:41 pmI don't keep kosher all year round, and unlike a lot of my fellows Israelis, I don't keep kosher during Passover as well (not to mention I don't fest on Atonement day). I don't mind the kosher stuff too much, though it is a headache if going out to eat, but since most of the places I go to eat are in Tel Aviv, the home of oh-so-many-non-religious-people they usually have non-kosher food for me to enjoy. Also, I don't really care what other people are eating (or not eating), whether it's in my home, my workplace or (when I was in the army), my base.
I don't like to be told "not to parade" myself eating bread at work. Excuse me, this is a democratic country, I can eat whatever I like in a public place (the law of the Hametz only states selling and presenting Passover non-kosher food as illegal, and it's in the area regencies' authorities' hands to enforce this law, and only a few do so). People say "You're hurting religious people's feeling by eating bread in front of them, and you're being insensitive".
I'm just so fed up with these people telling me what to do!!! I don't tell them not to eat their stupid food, why do they care what's sitting in my plate, for fucks sake?!?!?!
