The weekend...
Dec. 24th, 2006 02:53 pm I left work at 17:00 on Thursday. Too bad My bus didn't come until fucking 17:40. When I got home I went into a frenzy of work, but of course I didn't finish everything before
hagar_972,
deamonfall, Asaf and Sofi arrived. Made the last adjustments to the food while they were all sitting in the kitchen with me. Gave Asaf and Navot sweet potato-and-carrot soup, Hagar and I had some punch, and the first hour of the gathering went pretty peacefully. My mom wisely took off out of the kitchen, and only came back in to taste what Navot made himself to put on his potatoes (and loved it). My parents agreed to go out to dinner, so when they left we had the house to ourselves. We then moved to the living room, where we spent the next couple of hours, and after
nurint and Roy came we played Mafia (really nice game). The party ended with Navot and Hagar being too tired for anything and dropping on my bed, Roy and Nurit leaving and me going about to get everyone into their rooms. After a while Hagar and Navot woke up so it took me some more time to get their bed opened and their sheets pulled and then we all went to bed - Asaf and Sofi slept on my brother's bed, Hagar and Navot slept in my bed and I slept on the living room sofa.
I slept like crap, waking up with a splitting headache and back-pains, not to mention the fact I woke at 7:00 because I had to work. Drove Hagar to the train station (after saying goodbye to Navot and very sleeping Asaf and Sofi) and went to work. No idea how I didn't fall asleep on my desk, but I didn't. Went home and tried to get some sleep but couldn't, so I went to have some lunch and a pill, to crush my headache. After eating I felt better, but it was a quiet lunch, with only my parents and myself, since Udi was in the army and Michali and Eyal went to Jerusalem for the weekend. We finished eating and I sat at my room for a while, listening to music until I caught myself, went to feed Paula (Michali and Eyal's cat) and went to pick Lilach up from Max Brenner, where she works. She brought Churros with dips, and we dove into them with great pleasure when we got to her house. We spent the evening together, eating and watching a movie and then I drove home and crashed on the bed.
Woke up at ten, totally refreshed and thankfully with no headache. Meant to go to grandma's for lunch but my grandad was not feeling well so we stayed at home. My dad and I went to get ice cream at "Iceberg", and brought some for my grandparents as well (no-sugar). We finished the remaining of the punch from Thursday night, after which my dad was very cheerful and went to have a nap. I spent the afternoon doing almost nothing, talked to Navot a bit and went to watch a movie with my parents.
Has any of you ever seen that movie? The one with Dustin Hoffman being seduced by Mrs. Robbinson and falling in love with her daughter? The movie is quite strange, being very fast moving, with not so many explanations, though it is directed brilliantly (I think so), and it ends in the most entertaining way - Ben (Dustin's character) is standing behind a glass window in the church, banging on it, screaming "Elaine! Elaine! (a scene myself and
melody_kitty act when we get together) and Elaine screams (after she got married!) "Ben!" and then they literally fight their way out of the church (Ben Waving a cross that was hung there.... So funny!) and catch a freaking school bus and riding towards the sunset. It took my fifteen minutes to stop laughing.
I misplaced my most precious earrings, the pair my mom made me for Michali's wedding, and I've searched everywhere I could think of - including al my jewelery boxes, my bags, my drawers and the bathroom. I searched again last night, not really believing, and there they were - under some stuff at one of the bathroom drawers. I was so happy - I actually started crying out of pure joy - with the feeling that finally I found something with intention, and not only when I was looking for something else. I can't explain that feeling, I was just happy.
I've been writing this post for the last two-and-a-half hours (long post, a lot of interruptions). It's the first day Racheli was supposed to be here after returning from her maternity-break but she's sick, so it's just Lily and me. I've already talked to Navot this morning, not a very happy one (understatement), had several talks with stupid people (surprise) and got a candle as a present from one of the winners in a contest we run who felt nice towards me, I guess. Funny.
