Yesterday, the pride parade
Nov. 11th, 2006 11:13 amYesterday I went out of the house at 8:40. I returned home at 16:15.
Out of that time:
8:40-9:00 (20 minutes) I waited for the bus.
9:00-9:30 (30 minutes) I was on the bus.
9:30-9:35 (5 minutes) I was running for the train.
9:35-10:30 (55 minutes) I was waiting for the train, since I missed the 9:30 one. I was very annoyed.
10:30-11:50 (one hour, 20 minutes) I was on the train. Long, long ride.
11:50-12:10 (20 minutes) I was on a cab on my way to the stadium where the pride parade was held and I was walking towards the entrance.
12:10-13:25 (one hour, 15 minutes) I spent inside the perimeter, having fun with
melody_kitty, dancing to "Hadag Nahash" and keeping Mel from pocking people in the eye with her pointy pride-flag. I walked around looking at the different signs and enjoyed the fact I've seen all kinds of people in there. Someone gave Mel and me a sticker "Proud to be Straight". O.K., so I don't look real gay, but Mel looks anything but straight.. Funny thing. I bought an Amnesty badge, saying "Stop violence against women". We found Varda, after Mel was looking for her for about half an hour. After the "Hadag Nahash" finished playing I had to go, so I wouldn't miss my last train. I left right when Noa Setet (the head of "Open House", the organization which orchestrated the event) started to talk.
13:25-13:45 (20 minutes) I was walking out of the parimeter and the huge radius the police closed around it in hope to find a taxi ride.
13:45-13:55 (10 minutes)I was on the cab, worrying I'd miss the train.
13:55-14:00 (5 minutes) I was running for the train.
14:00-15:20 (one hour, 20 minutes) I was on the train. Had to endure some creep hitting on me, and when he heard I was on the pride parade (I stupidly told him) He said he has some girl to introduce me to. I ignored him and froze him long enough for him to leave me alone so I'd be able to nap for the rest of the ride.
15:20-15:50 (30 minutes) I was waiting for Efrat to get out of the shop because she was my ride home. Spent those 30 minutes buying a bottle of diet-coke and a bag of "Click", a really good chocolate snack I haven't eaten in ages and reading.
15:50-16:15 (25 minutes) I was riding home with Efrat.
So, in order to get my one hour, fifteen minutes in the pride parade I had:
One hour, 45 minutes of waiting.
Three hours, 55 minutes in some sort of transportation.
Ten minutes running.
Thirty minutes walking.
All in all, 6 hours, 20 minutes in comparison to 1 hour and 15 minutes.
It was worth every minute.
