Our winter is nearly always sunny, too. That's actually why it's so cold. :)
I think I was just confused because I know how much further south you are than we are, so the sun comes up a lot earlier than here. But you didn't mean the sun wasn't up, just that it was shining behind the clouds. I get it now. :)

[you have to remember that Israel is sunny throughout most of the year, and even in winter we have many sunny days]
