Cut my hair again to its 20's look for our trip on Wednesday (my mom's birthday - we're going to see flowers in the south and have dinner at Brasserie with my sister who can't make it to the trip).
*~*
Watched two movies yesterday - both childhood favorites - "Homeward Bound" and "The Land Before Time". Cried my eyes out, obviously. I was really glad to see that my good memories of both movies were justified - both are exceptionally sweet and well portrayed, emotional enough and tell a good story.
*~*
I've TV watching to fulfill, but I still haven't been able to do most of it. Hurmpf.

Date: 2013-03-11 01:22 pm (UTC)Both of those movies are really freaking sad. My younger sister used to make us watch them all the freaking time. I still have both of them pretty much memorized.
(The number of maple leaves my younger sister shredded in the backyard pretending they were "tree stars" while we were on our way to the Great Valley....)

Date: 2013-03-11 02:15 pm (UTC)I think I actually cried more yesterday than I did the first time I watched it.
"Homeward bound" was a movie I didn't really get as a kid, because I had no pets. I get it much better now.
But I always cried when Shadow appeared beyond the last hill. *sniff*
Also - and this is really horrible - the girl who was Ducky's voice from TLBT was murdered by her father with her mother when she was ten. So I added that knowledge to the reasons why I cried at that movie.

Date: 2013-03-11 02:17 pm (UTC)The part with Shadow at the end is so frigging depressing, when the kid thinks his pet is the only one who didn't make it home, and just.... gaaaaah.

Date: 2013-03-11 02:27 pm (UTC)No, actually - it's not true, though I knew bluth had darker view on how the movie should come out (and the studio and Spielberg and Lucas made him cut some of the harsher scenes). Here is what IMDB has to say about this rumor.
Would have been very Narnia of them.
