3rd grade drama

tamara_russoSo - some background to this awful day I had yesterday:
AS (my direct boss) and IN (a friend of mine from another division) had a fight earlier this week (well, they say it was work related but since I've always felt there was more going on between them than work, and everyone I tell this story to says the same, it might have been personal). We all go out to eat on Thursdays together, in the same place, and it's the only day I allow myself to go out to eat. We take our time, to mark the fact it's Thursday and it's almost the weekend.
So Yesterday morning AS walks into my office (IR, a new engineer, was there as well as it was her first day) and asks me if we're going out to eat. I said I was going with IN, so he said he was not going to join us, but that I go ahead and eat with her. I also told IR we were going out for sushi, and she said she would come with us.
It took me about 2 hours to get some fires put out with some suppliers we have and I went back to my office to get some things done that AS wanted me to do on the new truck.
Half an hour later AS calls me over to his office, and says "In my opinion, the engineering division should go eat together once a week, what do you think? And we can have add-ons, but those we want". I suggested we went to eat on a different day as a division, but he said "No, Thursdays".
I said he was putting me in a very difficult place and that it wasn't fair. He made some non-communal remark and I left.
He called to bark on me about me contract about 15 minutes later (just for the record, we talked about it on Wednesday, and he was very relaxed and said I do that whenever I had the time), so I could feel the heat starting to build.
An hour later he comes up to our floor and calls me over to the conference room. I closed the door and sat down (I could see this was going to be bad). He says "Well, a few things - one, since you're going out, you have 30 minutes from the moment you leave until you come back (when we usually take about double that). Second, IR isn't going to eat with you. Third, since you already said you'd go, I will allow you to go eat with her (!!!), but that's the last time".
I was shocked, I can tell you that. When he was leaving the conference room he mumbled "I don't need her [IN] to ruin me another engineer", so I called after him "Oh, so I'm ruined, right?" to which he didn't respond.
I called IN and asked her to bring food in, and went on to tell IR we weren't going out and that she couldn't sit with us (he didn't even tell her, but left that lovely job to me, not to mention he took the liberty to be mad at me for things I haven't screwed up). When IN came back we had lunch and I told her the whole thing. I was annoyed like hell, and to add to that AS started giving me the silent treatment when he came into our room every time.
I wasn't very productive during the day, so when at 4:30 AS walled into our room and asked to see what I was doing I had very little to show him, and to make things worse, I did something stupid a few days ago and saw something I'd already done go to waste,and he said I should get it fixed. I said I knew how, and that I'd do it first thing Sunday morning, but he said "No, now".
So I started working on it. The time wears on and he sits with SH and IR on SH's computer, explaining what he wants them to do, not looking at me once. I could feel myself grow madder and madder as the time wore on, and then, at 17:10, 25 minutes after the time I was supposed to leave (good thing I had the car and didn't have to miss the train) he looks at me and says "Do you have extra minutes today?" So I replied I thought he wanted me to do this now, and he looked at me like I was stupid, so I said "OK, I'm leaving". When I left he said "Don't worry, Sunday is a new week".
I was just so furious, I can say it no better. Shiri (my train friend) went with me in my car and agreed to come have something tasty to eat to make me feel better (we went to "Max Brenner" in the port, and since it was raining and cold the parking lot was empty. I went zig-zagging on it, screaming "Twanda!!!!" and Shiri laughed her ass off).
IN texted me later that evening saying she talked to AS and that things will be fine on Sunday, but I think once I saw who AS really is, I'm going to have that stuck in my mind. My cousin Abigail says I just need to stick it out a few more months and then start look for something else.
And here I was so happy I found a place without all this shit.
For closure, this song, that I've ben listening to in loops since last night, is incredible (the video is as well).
