The second week of work went by more quickly, and much better.

For starters, my bosses (all three of them) are back from abroad/sick days, so I actually get some feedback to my work. The second thing is I got the green light to come by early train and leave earlier than 17:00 - this way, the chance of missing the 17:20 train (thus making me wait 40 minutes for the next train, a feat I would deeply want to avoid having done so twice already in the first week) is incredibly low, so with an average bus home I got there by 18:30 or even a tad earlier.

Before the war stories - a quick protocol: ME, the owner of the company; IZ, the head engineer; AS, head of development and my direct boss (he hired me) and SH, drawer who sits with me in the same room. (AS, SH and myself are the department for the time being).

The first day ME was at work I got to see him spend at least 15 minutes being nasty to SH - one of the problems that come with three bosses is that each one have their own opinion as to how things should go. ME is very happy to repeat the phrase "I'm the only one calling the shots around here" and everybody roll their eyes.

I should explain that my work is to create 3D models of the pumps we buy, so that we can create pumps that are designed by us. I have some creative freedom with that, which will be nice as soon as I get into the job a bit deeper (and understand what the hell am I doing).

After the first few days I got to have about hourly visits from one or more of my bosses.

Cue AS: "What are you doing?" [I show him] "Can I?" [he sits at the computer and spends good 15 minutes trying to remember how to work the SolidWorks, during which I either stand amused behind him or try to show him the right place for the center point rectangle] "You get my drift" [I sit at the computer and do what he wanted to within five seconds] [He leaves the room shaking his head mumbling he needs to de-rust his SolidWorks work] Me and SH: *amused silence*.

Cue ME [stands behind my head looking at the model]: "Why is that closed here?"
Me: "It's not... It's the SolidWorks shadow."

Cue IZ [talks to ME about the positioning the metal should be in, argues with him, ME goes "My opinion" etc, they decide to change the positioning and leave].

Me [stares at now redundant model I spent half the day working on]: *headdesk* "Now is the time for a cup of coffee..."

Thursday was a good day when it came to compliments - from AS and ME (through IN, who works in acquisitions, who said ME walked into her room and said he was content with my performance).

IN is also the closest to me by age (only five year difference) and a very sweet girl (well, woman). She walked into my room one day and noticed the water gun from the pump sitting on my desk waiting to be modeled.
IN: "This is an interesting thing..." [picks it up and mimics shooting like a shotgun] "Although I can imagine a few more things that can be done with it..."
Me [stone faced]: "It's a bit long for that."
Her: "And a bit thin..."
Her and Me: [laugh our heads off]
SH: "Do you want me to leave the room?"
Her and Me: [laugh our heads off some more]
