Trip ending...
Jul. 24th, 2007 11:59 amSo the vacation's over, and I'm back at work.
Yesterday went by in a blur of tiredness and heat. The flight was horrible, the worst flight I remember - for one thing, the plane that was supposed to take us was stuck in Tel Aviv with mechanical problems, so another plane had to come. This little fiasco delayed the flight from 23:15 to 2:50. We only took off at 3:00 a.m., and the inside of the plane was hot and dry. Throughout the vast majority of the flight I was taking very fast and shallow breaths, because it hurt me to take deeper ones, and the amount of water I had to drink was immense, with the flight attendants being less than nice. To top it all, after we landed we got stuck in the plane for another 20 minutes or so, because the operator of the sleeve through which we were supposed to descend the plane just didn't show up...
Took us another 45 minutes or so to finish everything we needed to, and we stepped outside into our parents' arms.
After saying goodbye to Mel, we went home, and I spent the day drifting in and out of sleep, watching T.V. and reading. Of course my sister and my Brother in law came over to say welcome, and I gave them what I got for them, after which I resentfully took the dogs out (my mom spent no access time in letting me have that particular job), and then I went to sleep, trying to dose off when inside my inner clock it was only 21:00.
When I did fall asleep I went into a very deep and dreamless sleep, from which I only awoke at 8:15, when my mom came into my room. It took me a few minutes to understand that I'm late in waking up, and I was very tired. It was only 6:15 in the morning for me, after 3 weeks of enjoying the luxury of waking up when my body wanted to and staying in bed stretching for a good time after.
Luckily, even though my brain was still fuzzy my body kicked into auto-pilot and went through my morning ritual - breakfast, coffee, brushing teeth and shower. It was only after I finished my shower (with cold water) that I truly was awake, and then I knew I had to hurry, and I rushed through finding clothes that were already dry from yesterday, getting dresses, putting on my make up and getting a bag ready with everything. I was out the door 3 whole minutes before my normal schedule, so yey.
Got here today to find out that Racheli and Lily are both not here - Racheli is fasting (it's the 9th od Av) and Lily slipped on Thursday and cracked her pelvis as it seems, so she's at home, resting. Yael, the girl who substituted me is here, and so is Ika, Dovi's secretary (Dovi is the CEO of Yediot Books).
I brought DH with me for another round, and after I finish it I'll lay off HP for a while to get ahead on my other readings, and then I'll probably go for the entire series again. No doubt, DH is my favorite of the books, and is a superb finale for the entire story.
As the banner said, before the release - "7 books, One story, The final Countdown".
The countdown is over, and the end has come, with a bang. I'm so happy I was a part of it.
More later.

*Squeeeeeeeeee*
Jul. 20th, 2007 02:25 pmOMG - Less then 10 hours from now DH will be released, and I will be at Piccadilly Circus with Mel to greet it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are both going *squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!* (myself more than Mel, but, ah, well).
Another seven year wait is about to end tonight...
What will I do after?... *sniff*
I really feel sorry for all those who will only start reading the series after all the books have been released. They'll miss so much of the magic...
I'm glad I'm here, I'm glad I'm a part of it, and tonight... I'm going to be screaming with all the people (Mel notes that she'll kill me if I scream, so be ready for my funeral - I want "Happy Phantom" to be played), and I'm going to have the time of my life...
I'll see you on the other side.

Frustration
May. 24th, 2007 11:18 amMugglenet has a piece on J.K. Rowling's plans for the night of the release of Deathly Hallows - 1700 people will be lucky enough to get a signed copy of DH from her hands, and 500 of these will attend a midnight reading.
I squeaked so hard at seeing this my brother came in and started imitating me in amusement.
The problem? The raffle is only open to inhabitants of the UK and Ireland.
How annoying!!!!!

Only 59 days until Deathly Hallows reaches stores.
Oh. My. God.
Six weeks until we go to England and watch Tori's concert.
Everything is so damn close!!!
*~*
I'm at work stretching the time until 13:00 when I can go home. I doubt Motty will come today, so I have music on. I also finished all the things I needed to do, and I only have to call the traveling agency to try and get another two tickets to Barcelona for our contest winners.
The cafeteria has a nice buffet with cheeses and pastry, so I grabbed myself some to eat, it was nice.
Yesterday went smoothly, the picture of the soldiers is now in the paper and the convention was a success, but it tired me very much, so when I got home i had practically no strength. I went to sleep early and I slept pretty well, even though i woke up at 6:30.
I had a dream right before I woke up about me getting married. The dream kept jumping from a month before the wedding to the wedding day. A month before the wedding I drove the car to a place in Tel Aviv and parked it in a bad way [probably a glimpse of my parking yesterday when I got home... Heehee] and started walking around, looking for cats [?!?!?], and then I started crying, saying I don't want to get married without Efrat being at the wedding [probably because I've been thinking about her a lot lately], and then it was my wedding day, and my whole family was there, and my groom (have no idea how he looked), and all of a sudden a fire broke off in the hall where the Huppa was supposed to be at, and someone of my family tried to put it off with a fire extinguisher, and it didn't go off, and the fire men were already there, and I was screaming to everyone "Get out! Get out! I don't need you to die from a fire on this day!". After that we were all waiting outside (I think this place was some sort of a hotel, as I dream about hotels all the time), and then the fire was extinguished, and I remember I was running down the red-velvet-covered-stairs with my high heeled boots to check if the place could still have my wedding in, and that was when the alarm clock went off and I woke up...

DH cover released!!!
Mar. 28th, 2007 02:57 pmMugglenet.com has the released cover of HP and the DH!!!
The american version is quite weird, being all orange and having Harry in some sort of arena, trying to catch something, with Voldemort on the side, and the UK version is even stranger, with the trio being in a place with treasure (?!)... No idea what they mean, but I'm totally excited. Also the writing on the back of the UK version doesn't really say much, but that wasn't unexpected.
All in all, a good day in HP news!

Rain and lightening
Mar. 14th, 2007 03:04 pmAt 5:30 this morning Dolce woke me up so I'll let her out of my room. I was sleepily staggering to the door when a huge flash of light and a very large "Booom!!!!!!!" echoed and shook my windows. It was followed by a constant ringing of all the phones in the house (four of them) that subsided after a few minutes. The amusing thing was that both my dad and my brother went on with their sleeping without even moving a toe... Dolce ran and hide and when I opened my door Bono was there, looking very frightened (as much as I could see without my glasses). I couldn't sleep well after that, I could feel my heart pumping really fast, and when I woke up I did everything in half-speed.
Yesterday Udi had his boot-camp finishing ceremony, which was (as was expected) very tedious, but at least it wasn't very long. The weather could not have been more un-decisive, as it was raining heavily at one point and hot and sunny the next.
I over page 200 in HBP, and as soon as I'm finishing that I have "Black sun rising" waiting for me at home, and a whole lot of planning to get started on, and I really should buy tickets to the concert, but I'm still waiting to see if anyone else wants to come with us (Mel and I will be going, Ayala told me last night that they can't come).

England!!!
Mar. 13th, 2007 06:48 pmI sent an Email to all my friends asking who wants to come with me to England.
Mel will be going with me.
Double yey!
And Ayala says there's a chance she and her boyfriend Asher will be coming as well - Asher is a great fan of Tori's, so we might have a party of four (unless someone else wants to come).
This email made the whole thing very real, and quite final - I'm not going to back up now, and I'm not going to regret spending a cool one third of my savings on this trip - there will be no more HP book release parties, and who know when Tori will tour again, and will she ever come to Israel. I'm so excited!!!
On a different note - I've listened and re-listened to "93 maidens" (Rachael Sage) and came to understand what the song is about when I was half-way through the third time. I don't think I've started crying about a song's meaning since I read the lyrics to "Playboy Mommy" (Tori).

I hope no one calls the police
Mar. 10th, 2007 06:36 pmBecause my scream was quite loud.
Tori has a new album and tour!
I am seriously considering going to the London show, and stay in England for the DH festivities.
Plus - my player totally knows what I was screaming about - four Tori songs in a row...
Happiness!
Edit: Make that five...

The week has creeped into it's end...
Mar. 8th, 2007 04:02 pmIt's already Thursday, and that's really good, since I'll be able to have some time off this weekend, and I'm really looking forward to sleeping well on Saturday (since I'm working tomorrow). My parents will be out of the house most of Saturday, since they are invited to have lunch in the Negev at a house of a friend of my father's.
Haven't done anything today, just watched as the hours went on lazily, reading most of the time (I'm over page 550 in OotP, at "Snape's worst memory" and I remember exactly how I felt the first time I read it - and I'm looking into the gloomy ending).
I have my second of three sessions about China tonight - today it's "China under Mau". As the first session was really interesting I'm quite looking forward to it, plus I'll have some time in Azrieli so I'll be able to find mom a birthday present (she made my life very easy and told me she wanted a bottle of perfume as a gift - with an extension to exactly what kind she wants) and maybe get something to eat.
"A sorta fairytale" is on now on pandora. Oh, the summer is coming...

Don't know why. I keep having annoying dreams as well, and I woke up today at 5:00 a.m. completely energetic and ready to get up, and after having gone back to sleep had problem waking up at 7:00.
Some sport made me feel better, but still - and my stomach seems undeceive if it wants to hurt or not.
Arg.
Spent last night at my aunt and uncle's at their Shiv'a (my aunt's father passed away), feeling half there and half somewhere else. Perhaps the lunar eclipse messed with my system.
Good news - Beitar only just scraped a score of 1:1 with Ashdod, so it's now only two points between it and Hapoel. One good Saturday and Hapoel is on first place, and I do hope it'll happen, we haven't won the championship since 2000.
I'm in the middle of OotP now, but my pace isn't very fast, but no matter - the longer it takes me, the shorter the time to wait 'till DH. Plus - there's a new Mugglenet podcast out, so I have something to do when everyone leaves this afternoon.
Still feel weird.

Oct. 7th, 2006 11:27 amI hate bispecific antibodies, I hate cats and dogs who live together and I hate Alzheimer's disease.
On to other news, my mom bought appares. No, that's not a typo, It's apple and pare combined. It's good, and weird, and bizzare. I like it very much...
The W.O.M.B.A.T results are in, and I continue to get a good grade in them - got an "E" last time and got an "E" this time as well. I intend on getting an "O" in the last exam. If you have no idea what I'm talking about you're not a HP freak who reads JKRawling.com. Can't help you there, because you'll only get bored...
"Stand by Me" is on. I love that movie.
"What's up with you and that Conni Palermo chic?"
"I've been dating her over a month now and all she lets me do is feel her tits"
"That's because she's a catholic, they're all like that. If you want to get laid you gotta get you a protestant.
Jew is good"
So funny...
