Oh, My God.

BEST. BIRTHDAY PARTY. EVER.
Got up at around 8:00 yesterday and got to work at about 8:30. I was able to make the glass noodles and truffle batter before heading up to the roof to clean it up.
The clean up took time, and it was hot, so at some point my dad took over (he only had the chairs left to clean by that point - after I cleaned the surfaces, table, swept the floor and cleaned the bathroom).
I then went back downstairs and worked side by side with my mom to finish all the food (three salads - lettuce with vinaigrette, glass noodle Thai salad and very Ashkenazi potato salad, fancy seasoned rice, two cheese-olives-and basil quiches and the truffles). The hot-dogs were to be prepared right before the people got here.
Had a small lunch at about 15:30, with the quiches in the oven, during which I watched the Season finale of "Bones" and went to the shower.
Shiri showed up at 18:15 and helped get most of the things-that-aren't-food to the roof, at which point she went in the shower and I looked after the rice.
Hagar showed up at 19:45 I think? And Netalie and Hadar at 20:00. By that point we decided to start getting the food upstairs.
People dripped in until 21:30, I think - we were about 20-25 people, and by that point the party was in full swing.
Opher brought two bottles of liqueur - both found by his dad to be hiding in the back of their cabinet for the past 30 years (!). Needless to say, they were both inhaled. I stuck to the Tequila, and I think Udi did too, and Opher and Hagar took care of the Kirsch.
I spent most of the party circling the people, and I sat down and talked with most I think, but the problem with so many people (and from all kinds of circles - friends, close friends, friends from work, family members and my brother and sister's friends) is that you can never spend time with all of them. Danielle and Haim left early, since the only people they usually know at my parties (Yona and Danny) couldn't make it, and my cousin Abigail and her partner Uzi left early as well because my brother and sister were sitting with their own friends.
Mirit and Michal were the surprise - I thought they'd leave quite early, but they had so much fun they stuck it out. And had long conversations with my mom...
Netali and Hadar, Didi and Eli and Lilach and Elad had the same problem and also didn't stay very long. I also had very little time to talk to them.
But Hagar, Opher and Shiri, Udi, Michali (and Tomer, her putz boyfriend, ugh), Tali and Kobi (my sister's best friend and her husband, who I know from our shared circle in high school, yes, it's a tiny place), Helena and Danny and my friends from work Mirit and Michal stayed until 1:30 playing mafia. We even got my dad to play. Which was tons hilarious.
...and the third game was handled by me, and I made Hagar and Udi to be the killers. Which was FUCKING CRAZY FUN.
And by which point we knew it was going to be the last game.
I also got very drunk from the booze, which was really great. I usually have to drive, so I never allow myself to drink so much. Also - 30 year old Tequila. Brilliant. I was giggly as all hell, and didn't become sleepy! It seems my body handles Tequila much better than it does beer.
After the last game I opened the presents (got a handful of art books, a novel, a baking pan for brownies, some towels and a great kit of L'Occitane) and then we all got all the remains of the food and stuff back to the apartment.
In between I got a text from H's mom to ask if she left yet... Seems like my mom isn't the only one who does that with kids over 24...
Went to bed after 2:00 and got up this morning at 10:00. No headache and no nausea.
SO MUCH FUN.
