Photography - Looking. Colors. Expressions. Catching just the right moment.
A wonderful gift I gave myself last year which turned out even better than I hoped - one camera+photography class=much happiness. It's also hiding. I'm good at hiding. Holding the camera makes it that much more possible, even though you can tell I'm holding it (if you know me). I love it.
Tori Amos - My One True Love. Music. Life. Beauty. Meaning.
I've written about her so many times - "She means so much to me' she saved my life, she gives music so much more meaning than others..." You've heard it all. what's amazing is that even now, after some pretty big changes in my life and persona, she remained that which she means to me.
Also - she's the best example of my pimping abilities - with the exception of Efrat I've made all my friends listen to her. Whether it's sunshine she brings into their lives or winter, It was my doing and I'm glad.
Harry Potter - The Very Essence of Good Reading. Glasses. Fantasy. Happy Ending.
I still remember that week I read the first 3 books, after a while I didn't want to read them. the amazement, the thrill. I was always a book worm, but this was beyond anything I've ever experienced. Now, after this whole kerfuffle ended and I look at the series with much more sober eyes I see it's faults and mistakes and still love it dearly. For those 9 hours at Piccadilly Square. For those nights I stayed up just to keep reading. For all those amazing characters I got to know. For the expectation. For that morning I left the army to get OotP. For 7 incredible years of excitement. And for it's gift of English, because i don't know if that would have happened if GoF would have been translated when I started reading HP.
Chocolate - Ha... Food. Godiva. Truffles.
Not my favorite sweet (shocker, I know). My favorite is Marzipan (if it wasn't the taste, "The Amber Spyglass" would have done it). Even though, I love it. Sometimes I forget how much and then it's truffles time and I remember. For me, it's just one of those things I do well and like to do, it's fun and tasty and can be very addictive. Oh, and chocolate-gazms do exist. :)
The "other" Alton - *Can't talk for laughing*
Yes, one of the best adventures of the England-Irland trip of 2007. I knew we were going the wrong way because the sun wasn't in the right place. And I got a laughing-crying attack when we realized it. and the money we spent, and so many tears (of laughter) were poured over this. And next - The midlands, and that kid who ran screaming on the train to the right Alton and we imagined him naked, and that whole trip, how it changed us to the place we are now, and the whole thing is such a wonderful thing to remember.
And you really had to be there.
