I love Marzipan - for multiple reasons, one of them is "His Dark Materiales" (If you've read it, you'd know why) and the other is ,well, it's so bloody tasty. So my mom bought a half a kilo (about a pound) of almonds, because she wanted to make rice with herbs and almonds and she left me the rest. Actually, she needed a very small amount of the almonds, so she took about two-three hand-fuls, and left everything else to me...
I've tried to make marzipan so many times, and it's never quite right, so I skipped the recepies this time and went on my hunches. It's really good - the texture is still not exactly it, but it's soft and moist and tasty and almondy. So if you want some (I made tons, though by now it's a bit less, we all have a sweet tooth here - I did get it from someone, Hagar) you can come and have some... Cheers!
