Went to Nahlat Binyamin to take photos (I'll post them later). Had a great deal of fun photographing so many strange people. At the Carmel market I had a more difficult time, people there don't want to be photographed (they thought we were from the IRS), and this crazy seller grabbed me by the wrist and went on and on about people that don't want their picture taken and then made me buy 4 pitas with za'atar and two laffas...
Went over to Senkin to find something for Ruthi's bachlorette party that night and got some stuff at "Old time's soap". By then I was too hot so I headed home. Took me about half an hour to down a few glasses of diet coke, one glass of Martini, make the batter for the chocolate truffles (with whisky and black pepper!) and to get all the photos on my computer.
Had lunch with my parents and went on the get some painting done, managed to almost finish one base (I finished the base today, also got on to the second lair of actual painting), went on with another painting and by then I noticed it was late so I went to get the truffles rolled and get washed and dressed.
Got to Ruthi's at a few minutes past 19:00, after only one wrong turn I made to find I knew almost no one there. Walked about for a while and made a few suggestions about The-Peach-Flavored-Thing-That-Was-Supposed-To-Be-Margarita, sat for a while and had a nice talk with a few people. I kept watching the time (I had to leave at 20:00) and was very glad to see that Ruthi got there before I had to leave, which I did after introducing myself...
Took me 20 minutes to get to TA and another 20 to find a decent place to park (obviously) and by then it was quite late so I walked quickly to the Stage Arts Hall, found my mom and sister and we went in.
The show was unbelievable, so much rhythem and color, amazing vitality and the undertext was wonderful - an almost all black company dancing to the sound of slave songs, so much gospel, hip-hop. Well, no words needs to be said more about The Alvin Aiely American Dance Theater. Just - incredible. They got a standind ovation in the end. Amazing.
We had a bite to eat at "Nona" and then Eyal (who joined us there) and Michali gave me and mom a lift to our car. After they dropped us off my mom tripped and fell backwards on the road. It was really lucky there hadn't been a car there, or else.. *shudderes*
She was a bit shaken up so I drove us home. She was fine afterwards.
Going to eat at my grandparents today so I have to get dressed soon. Also got to paint a bit today as well.
