Weekend smiles.
May. 12th, 2007 09:00 pmIt's rather cold outside, and it feels like it's gonna rain. It smelled like rain this morning as well, but it didn't rain. Weird.
I'm feeling much better now, thank my T-cells a lot. A sore throat is really not a hit.
Went to eat at the "Black" today in Cinema City. Was much fun - I managed to get everything I like (like ede-mame and cherry-beer) and a vegi-burger with chimichury. Y-ummy. My grandparents weren't all that enthusiastic about the place, but the rest of us had fun (even though my family said they over-cooked the hamburgers), and the check would have been much higher at another place.
I've been reading like a maniac lately (I read all the time, but at a much slower rate, and a lot of re-reads go into that). My favorite was "Lost in a Good Book", which is the sequel of "The Eyre Affair". I'm pretty glad I read "Lost" first, because it caught me from the first page, and "Eyre" was much slower at the beginning, so if things would have been different, I might not have gotten to read "Eyre" in its whole, and would have never read "Lost", which gave me such a pick-me-up and made me excite as I hadn't since, well, HBP probably (when I read it the first time - Harry and Ginney's first kiss... *squee*). "Mother of the wheat" was excellent, eccentric, weird, wonderful and generally "my kind of book" (as my sister put it). I will buy it probably, to have in my library, as it's my sister's sister in law's book. "The Island" wasn't as deep or as weird, but it made me cry like hell, and it was just good drama. In the middle I re-read parts of "House of Sleep", "Someone to run with" and "The world, my butt, and other big round things". I'm still amazed at how I have almost two-hundred books on my shelves and I can't find something to read at times, to fit my mood.
I still have a lot of books to read, two following
p_friedmann's suggestions, and more and more. I really need to finish books I've started, as they annoy me most (that I haven't been able to finish them). Well, it'll come. I also need to put my shelves in order, due to my new purchases - my books are organized by the publishing house, so changes must be made.
Spent some time this morning painting. I have this one piece that needs so much work, so I do a bit every time, and I hope I'll finish it sometime this year, though I'm known for prolonging these things for a long time at times. It too will come.
One of my cats decided that my shoes are a good place to pee, so my red shoes (my favorite shoes... Damn them), so Thursday afternoon I went to buy shoes with my mom, sore throat and all. Two pairs of sandals and snickers in less than an hour, I think that's a record.
Oh, god, the wind from my window is incredible.
My brother and I made a list of all the roller coasters we were on and gave them grades. the results - 33 coasters, out of them only 5-6 with a higher grade than 8.5, but that was fun. I really don't get to spend too much time with Udi, so I initiated something I knew he'd love to have some quality time with him before he goes back to base tomorrow. Plus, it was cool.
